Octalarm alarm diallers get software update (2.6.0)

In the coming weeks, we will make the new software version 2.6.0 available for all Octalarm alarm diallers in the field. Because of ARA, the interface needs to handle many more alarms. To keep the alarms clear, the ‘graphical user interface’ (GUI) of all alarm devices (Touch | Touch Pro | ARA) and the web browser have been drastically changed. It looks different, but fortunately it still works the same.

Most of the changes are to improve the product.  We recommend installing (or having installed) a software update on all field-based device at all times.

Online onboarding
It is now also possible to perform device onboarding via a web interface. For this, the dialler must be connected to the internet, so you can access the device by typing its IP address into a web browser.

The online manual will be extended with this additional possibility of onboarding as soon as possible. You can use the explanation of onboarding on the dialler as a guide. You access the dialler via the IP address. This does require the device to be connected to the internet. You will see the IP address when you hold a tag against the RFID scanner.

Quick explanation at hand
Throughout the portal, buttons have been added; with one simple click on this icon, you have direct access to the corresponding online documentation.

Install software version 2.6.0

The new software version will be available on every device in the coming weeks. We automatically deliver new diallers with the new software. Please note that to receive the update, the dialler must be connected to the internet.

Users can perform the update themselves as soon as the message ‘New software is available’ appears on the display of the alarm dialler. The update process is safe and takes approx. 15 seconds, so the alarm is not interrupted for long.
